I am getting 70-90c now even in vanilla(meaning absolutely no mods). I was averaging 50c when playing HEAVY mod packs. It could be a range of things and I would recommend RMA (send it back ) It will be much quicker and solve your problem easily. Good job for not ignoring it as it can cause serious problems down the line if left. Have to remember 70 Celsius will burn you if you touch metal so of course It wouldn't feel fine but that noise isn't good.
